Delavan Lake Sanitary District and SEWRPC (Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission)

State and federal laws mandate the creation and implementation of a number of water quality plans, intended to improve and maintain surface waters quality. The primary agency having this responsibility is the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The DNR has in turn delegated this responsibility to a number of regional plan commissions located throughout the state. The Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Plan Commission is the agency responsible for planning and administering water quality plans in Walworth County. Walworth County Land Use Planning must be consistent with the duly adopted regional plan. SEWRPC and others work collaboratively to plan growth in the area served by the Sanitary District.
