The Town of Delavan and the Delavan Lake Sanitary District
The Delavan Lake Sanitary District is a Town Sanitary District that was created by order of the Town Board for the Town of Delavan in 1969, in response to a petition submitted by a majority of the property owners surrounding the lake. In ordering the creation of the District, the town recognized that Delavan Lake is a significant resource to the community, requiring special attention by an organization whose sole purpose is to address water quality issues. Since its organization, commissioners in the District have been elected for six-year terms in order to provide broad public participation in lake related matters.
We work very closely with the Town of Delavan in all matters affecting Delavan Lake Water Quality. It is recognized by the local community that Delavan Lake is not only a valuable recreational and environmental resource, but also provides significant enhancement to the local and regional economy.
